Update: We've recapped today's drinking game here.
We’re giddy with anticipation as we await President Bush’s Rose Garden speech on climate change later this afternoon. While well aware that we’re most likely setting ourselves up for a letdown -- especially given that White House officials already have lowered the bar and told us not to expect a specific plan – we nonetheless are looking forward to this rare, if not unprecedented, event.
To mark the occasion, we’ve devised a game for all of you who will be tuning in at 2:45 p.m. EST to see what the President has to say about the administration’s climate strategy. You may have played versions of this game before with other speeches, movies or television shows. The rules of the Bush Drinking Game are simple: We have created six categories of words and phrases that President Bush is likely, or in some cases unlikely, to say over the course of his remarks (this includes answers to questions following the speech).
If you’re playing at home, we suggest making this a drinking game, because, well, you’re at home at 2:45 on a Wednesday afternoon. Drinking at work, however, may qualify as reason for termination, and we don’t want anyone getting fired. So if you’re stuck at the office, we suggest that you and your colleagues use these following categories to create a Bush Bingo game. It’s guaranteed to liven up the day, especially if betting is involved.
