Gore Goes Out On Limb, Endorses Obama Print E-mail

Now that Hillary Clinton is officially out, Al Gore found it safe to finally endorse Barack Obama in Michigan last night.

It seems you can't even stand next to Obama without arousing speculation that you'll be running as his Veep. We hate to burst your bubble if you're one of those looking forward to an Obama-Gore ticket, but the Ozone Man would probably sooner advocate drilling in ANWR then run as Vice President again.

Of course, Gore made sure to include talk of energy and climate in his speech. He used Obama's campaign motto of 'Change' to highlight the change of policies the country needs in order to address global warming (is it us, or when we talk about 'climate change' and Obama, the change in climate change starts to take on a more positive spin?).

Since they were in Detroit, Gore also took the opportunity to promise new jobs that will come when the domestic automakers finally 'revitalize' their fleets and embrace plug-in hybrids and zero-emission vehicles.

Even though Gore isn't likely to run with Obama, we wouldn't be surprised to see him in a cabinet position by this time nexy year. He sure would be one EPA Administrator that employees could get behind.

Hi, We're EnviroWonk

Yeah, OK, we can be the change that we want to see in the world. But unless powerful people in powerful positions want to be that change as well, nothing's going to change.

So now, finally, there's a place where you can go for news and analysis of politics from an environmental perspective.
