Road Trippin' In An Age Of $4 Gasoline Print E-mail

You're probably like most Americans, driving less than ever this summer and resorting to pathetic-sounding "staycations" thanks to the price of gas. We're like most Americans too, except this week, when we'll be driving from Washington, D.C. to Los Angeles, CA.

To help cover gas In the name of journalism we'll be blogging our trip -- the cost to fill up our tank, how we fare at license plate bingo, the average speed of 18 wheelers -- and talking to other travelers on the interstates (not to be confused with the internets). We'll also be scouring local newspapers for a regional view of environmental politics these days.

We hope you'll follow our journey as we give you the opportunity to enjoy life on the road, without having to chip in for gas.

Hi, We're EnviroWonk

Yeah, OK, we can be the change that we want to see in the world. But unless powerful people in powerful positions want to be that change as well, nothing's going to change.

So now, finally, there's a place where you can go for news and analysis of politics from an environmental perspective.
